Saimian Management Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "SEMI China" or "we/us") undertakes to responsibly process your personal information. Please note that the services we provide in mainland China (hereinafter referred to as "Services") are not targeted at minors under the age of 14. If you are under the age of 14, you should not use or access our Services. Please read this SEMI Event Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") carefully before you use our Services or provide any personal information to us. We will update the Policy from time to time to ensure that it accurately reflects our personal information processing activities. We will notify you of material changes to the Policy as required by law and will seek your consent to the Policy again under certain circumstances.

1. Application Scope and Definitions

This Policy describes how SEMI China, as your personal information processor, processes the personal information it has collected in mainland China. For the purpose of the Policy, definitions of "personal information", "personal information processor", "sensitive personal information", "processing" and other related definitions shall be consistent with those in the Civil Code, the Cyber Security Law, the Data Security Law, the Personal Information Protection Law, the Administrative Regulations on Network Data Security and other applicable PRC laws and regulations (hereinafter referred to as "Applicable Laws and Regulations"), specifically as follows.

 • "Personal information" refers to various information related to identified or identifiable natural persons recorded by electronic or other means, excluding information processed anonymously.
 • "Personal information processor" refers to the organization or individual that independently decides the processing purpose and processing method in the activities of processing personal information.
 • "Sensitive personal information" refers to the personal information that, once disclosed or illegally used, is likely to infringe upon the human dignity of a natural person or jeopardize the personal or property safety of a natural person, including biometric identification, religious belief, specific identity, medical health, financial account, whereabouts and tracks, and the personal information of minors under the age of 14.
 • "Processing" of personal information includes the collection, storage, use, processing, transmission, provision, disclosure and deletion of personal information.

2. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

We will collect and use your personal information based on the processing purposes and scenarios set out below, in accordance with the principles of legality, reasonableness, necessity and good faith, as well as the requirements of Applicable Laws and Regulations. You can also refer to Appendix I “List of Personal Information Collected”.

2.1. How We Collect and Use Audience's Personal Information

2.1.1. Registration for Event. (1) When you log in the registration website/H5 page/mini program or other media interfaces of our exhibition, forum and related events (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Event"), you need to provide your mobile phone number or e-mail address for account registration. (2) As the Event adopts the real-name authentication mechanism, you are required to provide your country, ID card type, ID card number, title and name for real-name authentication. (3) We will send you a notice before the Event commences, so you could be informed of the time and place of the Event, and you need to provide your e-mail address, mobile phone number and visiting date for the purpose of receiving such notice. (4) We need to make the exhibition badge for you, so you need to provide your company name, position and name for the purpose of making the badge. (5) In addition, if you have any other requirements (such as delivery of badge or gifts), you need to provide us with your mailing address and contact number.

2.1.2. Participation for Questionnaire Survey. In order to better provide you with Event services, we may invite you to participate in our questionnaire survey. During the process of doing so, we will collect following information from you: the Event that you are interested in, your management level, your decision-making power in purchasing products/services, the industry you work in/serve, the manufacturing technologies that you are interested in, your main job responsibilities, the products/services/technologies that you are interested in, the applications that you are interested in, the scale of your company, etc. The question setting of each Event questionnaire may be different. However, we have set up corresponding response options and no-answer options under each of the questions in our questionnaires to respect your willingness to answer. If it is not convenient for you to answer or you cannot answer certain questions, you may choose the "Other/Unclear" option from response options. In addition, we may analyze and process your answers made to our questionnaires, generate post-event report and provide to our overseas headquarter.

2.1.3. Receiving Event Information. In order to provide you with subscription service with a better quality and convenience, we will collect the following information from you for the administration of the subscription service: in what way do you want to receive Event information (the information will only be used by SEMI China and will not be disclosed to other parties), whether you want to receive Event information from exhibitors and other relevant organizations, whether you want to receive Event information from SEMI via email. If you do not want to receive Event information, you may choose "No/Do not want to receive any Event information". Furthermore, there is an "unsubscribe" option in any channel through which we send you marketing information (including SMS, email, etc.). You may cancel the subscription of relevant marketing information at any time.

2.1.4. Recording Event. In the course of the Event, we may take photo/videos, or conduct interviews/live-streams or other new media activities, in order to record the Event process. During this process, the photos and videos we take may contain your facial feature information.

2.2. How We Collect and Use Exhibitors' Personal Information

2.2.1. Participating Events and Handling Corporate Affairs. (1) The Event adopts real-name authentication mechanism, so you need to provide your ID card type, ID card number and name for real-name authentication. (2) We need to make exhibition badges for you, so you need to provide your name, company, booth number, position (optional) and department (optional). (3) During the preparation and course of the exhibition, we may need to contact you for handling corporate affairs related to the Event, so we need to collect your mobile phone number and email address.

2.2.2. Recording Event. In the course of the Event, we may take photos/videos, or conduct interviews/live-streams or other new media activities, in order to record the Event process. During this process, the photos and videos we take may contain your facial feature information.

3. Why and How We Process Your Sensitive Personal Information

Some of the personal information we process about you is sensitive personal information. The specific purposes for which we process your sensitive personal information and the impact on your rights are set out in the table below. If you reject us to process your sensitive personal information, the specific purposes described below will not be fulfilled.

If you refuse to have your photo or video taken, please inform our working staff at the Event of your complaint, and we will refrain from taking photos or videos of you.


4. How We Entrust to Process, Share, Transfer and Publicly Disclose Your Personal Information

(1) Entrusted Processing
In order to achieve the purposes described in this Policy, we may entrust third parties (for example, system service providers, IT operation and maintenance service providers and consultants) to process your personal information on our behalf. Such entrusted processors shall maintain your personal information in confidentiality and shall only use your personal information for the purposes described in this Policy. We will require entrusted processors to strictly comply with our measures and requirements regarding personal information protection, including but not limited to, processing your personal information in accordance with relevant agreement entered into between the entrusted processor and us.

(2) Sharing
As required by Applicable Laws and Regulations or compulsory administrative or judicial requirements, we may provide your personal information to relevant administrative authorities, judicial departments or other organizations with corresponding authorization. Apart from that, we will not share your personal information with other personal information processors. If we need to share your personal information with other third parties, we may obtain your consent to such sharing in accordance with Applicable Laws and Regulations.

(3) Transfer
If as a result of merger, division, dissolution or bankruptcy, we need to transfer your personal information, we will send you an appropriate notice to inform you of the name and contact information of your recipient prior to the transfer of your personal information. The recipient will continue to perform the obligations of the personal information processor in accordance with this Policy. The recipient will obtain your re-consent if it changes its original purpose and method of processing.

(4) Public Disclosure
In the course of the Event, we may take photo/videos, or conduct interviews/live-streams or other new media activities, in order to record the Event process. Some of these images may be published in our post-event reports or other materials, where photos and videos may contain your facial feature information. Except for the scenarios described above, we will not make public disclosure of your personal information. If we need to make public disclosure of your personal information under certain circumstances, we will obtain your consent to such disclosure as required by Applicable Laws and Regulations.

5. Legal Basis for Processing Your Personal Information

In most cases, your consent is required for us to process your personal information. However, in accordance with Applicable Laws and Regulations, your consent is not required for us to process (including, without limitation, collection, storage, use, processing, transmission, provision, disclosure and deletion) your personal information under the following circumstances:
(1) necessary for conclusion and performance of a contract to which such individual is a party;
(2) necessary for the performance of legal duties or legal obligations;
(3) necessary for handling with a public health emergency or for protection of life, health and property of natural persons under emergency circumstances;
(4) to carry out news reporting and supervision by public opinion for public interests, and the processing of personal information is within a reasonable scope;
(5) process personal information disclosed by an individual or other personal information that has already been legally disclosed to the public by an individual to a reasonable extent in accordance with the requirements of law; or
(6) other circumstances provided by the laws and administrative regulations.

6. Retention Period of Your Personal Information

Your personal information will be retained on a case-by-case basis. The retention period for different types of personal information may vary, but we will adhere to the principle of "minimum and necessary". This means that we will only keep your personal information for the shortest period required to fulfill the purposes stated in this Policy. We will also retain your personal information in accordance with the mandatory retention period provisions of Applicable Laws and Regulations.

7. Cross-border Transfer of Your Personal Information

In principle, the personal information we collect from mainland China will be stored domestically. We will not transfer the personal information we have collected to a country or region outside mainland China or allow entities in other countries or regions to access the personal information collected within mainland China, unless there is a genuine business need to do so and it is in compliance with Applicable Laws and Regulations. When conducting cross-border data transfers, we will strictly comply with Applicable Laws and Regulations and ensure, by contract or similar means, that the overseas recipient provides the same or stricter protection for your personal information as is provided in this Policy and Applicable Laws and Regulations.
Please refer to Appendix II “List of Overseas Recipients” for the name and contact information of overseas recipients, processing purpose, processing method, types of personal information to be transferred to overseas recipients and the way that you could exercise your personal information rights against overseas recipients.

8. How We Protect Your Personal Information

As required by Applicable Laws and Regulations and on the basis of multi-level cyber security protection, we will strengthen the security protection of your personal information, establish and improve security management mechanism for personal information, and adopt technical measures such as encryption, backup, access control and security authentication and other necessary measures to protect your personal information from being tampered with, destroyed, leaked, illegally obtained or illegally used.
Meanwhile, we will establish and improve a personal information security incident plan. Upon the occurrence of a personal information security incident, we will immediately initiate the plan, take measures to prevent the expansion of harm, eliminate security risks and report the incident to competent authorities in accordance with Applicable Laws and Regulations.

9. Your Personal Information Rights

In accordance with Applicable Laws and Regulations, you have following rights to your personal information.
(1) You have the right to know and to decide on the processing of your personal information.
(2) You have the right to restrict or refuse us to process your personal information.
(3) You have the right to access and have a copy of your personal information.
(4) If you find that your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request us to correct or supplement it.
(5) If your personal information is processed based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent (please note, in case of your withdrawal of consent, the validity of the personal information processing already conducted based on your consent before such withdrawal will not be affected).
(6) You have the right to request to transfer your personal information to another personal information processor designated by you, provided that following conditions are satisfied: (a) we can verify the real identity of you; (b) the personal information requested to be transferred is the personal information you agree to provide or is collected according to contract; (c) there is technical feasibility to transfer your personal information; (d) the transfer of your personal information will not harm the lawful rights and interests of other persons. If the number of times you request to transfer personal information exceeds the reasonable range, we may charge necessary fees based on the cost of transferring personal information. (7) You have the right to request us to delete your personal information under certain circumstances.
If you wish to exercise any of the abovementioned rights (including deregistering your account), please contact us by using the contact information provided in this Policy. To protect your personal information, we need to verify your identity in order to make responses to your claims. We may not be able to respond to unauthorized requests or requests related to other individuals’ personal information (such as requests to access other individuals’ personal information).

10. How We Protect Children’s Personal Information

Our services are not intended for minors under the age of 14. We do not intend to collect personal information from minors under the age of 14, with or without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you are under the age of 14, you must not use or access the Service in any way. We will not collect children personal information for any purpose or intention. If you consider that we have collected personal information from a child, please contact us using the contact information provided in this Policy and we will delete the personal information concerned.

11. How We Use Cookies

We use cookie and other tracking mechanism to track information about your activity on our website or other media interfaces. This cookie information may be used in combination with other personal information we collect from you.
A cookie is an alphanumeric identifier that is transferred by a web browser to your computer's hard drive for recording and storage. Some cookies make it easier for you to navigate websites and use services, while others speed up the sign-in process or track your activity on websites and services. We reserve the right to update this Policy at any time. You may contact us via the method listed in "How to Contact Us" to obtain the latest version. We will notify you if we make material changes to this Policy. If your consent to changes is required by Applicable Laws and Regulations, we will seek your consent as required by such laws and regulations.
